Liberation Counseling Center accepts all major credit/debit cards as well as Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

For clients in Arizona I am an in-network provider with Aetna and Optum insurances, including but not limited to Oscar, Oxford, United Healthcare, and UMR. I work with a billing company that can assist you with using and understanding your in-network insurance benefits.

For clients in Idaho I am an out- of- network provider.

If you would like to use your out-of-network benefits I can provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance provider to seek reimbursement. This means that you use your own method of payment at the time of service.

Under the No Secrets Act, a law enacted in 2022, health care providers can give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using in-network insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services, upon request. This is called a “Good Faith Estimate”. This “Good Faith Estimate” explains how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Please note that any time insurance benefits are billed a mental illness must be diagnosed and this diagnosis is communicated to your insurance provider. This is to show that the services you are receiving are “medically necessary”. This diagnosis becomes part of your health record and may be considered a “pre-existing condition” in the future. Depending on your profession or any concerns about obtaining health coverage benefits in the future, this may impact your decision to use your current insurance for mental health treatment.

However, not everyone I work with meets criteria for a mental health disorder.  If this is the case, I cannot ethically bill your insurance.

Your insurance provider may have restrictions on how many sessions it is willing to cover in a given year. Also, insurers can audit your records at any time which further limits confidentiality. The insurance company may decide to stop paying for treatment.

Consideration of your financial situation, insurance deductible, and personal preferences may lead you to decide to avoid these risks.

Any missed or cancelled appointments within 24 hours of the appointment time will result in a fee of $135 being applied to your personal method of payment on file.
