Kristen Pantermarakis, LPC
Before attending graduate school to earn a Master’s in Counseling from my alma mater, Arizona State University, I worked as a case manager in a community mental health clinic and in crisis services for those experiencing a mental health emergency. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I knew I wanted to gain experience in the behavioral health field. This experience solidified my decision to become a mental health therapist as I knew there was nothing else I would rather do than dedicate my career to helping others heal.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) through the Idaho Board of Professional Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists, a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional for Individuals (CCTP-I) through the Arizona Trauma Institute.
As a result of my training as a CCTP-I, my approach is to provide you with tools to self- soothe and better manage day to day symptoms and challenges. I am passionate about Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) to assist people in finding deeper healing and inner peace, even in ways that trauma makes us incorrectly believe are impossible. My training through an EMDR International Association (EMDRIA)-approved program for Attachment Based EMDR therapy ensures delivering this therapy according to best practice standards.
When I am not wearing my therapist hat you can find me exercising at the gym, spending time with my two dogs, connecting with nature on a hike, or traveling and learning about different cultures.
