Perhaps you are trying to cope with waves of sadness, feelings of low hope, or lack of motivation. Maybe your anxiety is getting in the way of living life the way you want. Difficulty sleeping or nightmares may be wreaking havoc. Low self-esteem and a complicated relationship with yourself may cause you to feel like your own worst enemy at times. Trouble navigating relationships with other people may be adding to feelings of loneliness. Having a hard time understanding emotions — whether your own or those of the people around you — may leave you feeling confused. Inner barriers to speaking up or advocating for yourself in a healthy, balanced way may lead to resentment. Self- sabotaging thoughts and behaviors are keeping you stuck.
Together we will figure out how you can unlearn these patterns, no matter how long you have been following a cycle.
Meeting you where you are
Part of my role as a therapist is getting a sense of where you are in your journey and meeting you there. This means knowing when to push you, how much to push, and when to reduce the pressure. I make an effort to understand your perspective, help you make sense of what you are going through, and determine what will best meet your needs.
Foundation for healing
In the earliest stages of our work together, I will assist you in developing skills to self-soothe as a foundation for the deeper work of learning to love, respect, and accept yourself. Through my process with you, we will use strategies to better manage your emotions. I firmly believe in your innate ability to heal and hope to show you the way.
My hope for you
My goal for you is to no longer feel trapped in the emotional and mental cage of the past. You should feel supported, validated, and listened to as well as confident that you are working with someone who has a roadmap and plan to help you get where you would like to be. This can be a launching pad for you to have the confidence to make the positive changes in your life that you have been held back from.
